“And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold” (Matt 24:12)- NSV
We currently live in a time of moral and spiritual decay in the midst of a flourishing spiritual era where literally thousands of people rush to services and spiritual activities. To move away from God does not start with incorrect conduct.

Prayer

In 1814 the year before Waterloo, the county of Cornwall became the scene of one of the most remarkable and extensive revivals of religion ever known in any country in the world. The movement began in Redruth. In the town of Tuckingmill, a father held family prayers and devotion after a meal. People passing by heard the whole family praying and entered the house uninvited until it was overflowing, with people around the windows and on the street outside crying for God to have mercy on them. From there they all moved to the Church and filled it. The penitents became so preoccupied with cries of mercy that the preacher could not be heard. He spent the night going from pew to pew, praying with those who wanted to get right with God. |

Revival comes to the local church on God’s terms, not simply because we want it come. So how do we prepare ourselves for God to move among us in revival? Perhaps we should ask how the mighty power of God came upon the early church.
Consider Acts 4:31 – “And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”
When God’s people gather together for the purpose of calling out to Him in prayer … He responds. Prayer ought to be the natural response of God’s people in times of need. It was when the church assembled together in fervent prayer that He moved in power. With one heart they looked to God; they cried out to God; and they experienced His power. Acts 4:32-33 continues to say that they “were of one heart and one soul … and great power … and great grace was upon them all.”
